USING A PUTTY KNIFE - Continued

Carefully put knives away after use.
2.
Protect the sharp cutting edges from contact
with other hard objects.
3.
Use knives only for the purpose for which they
are intended.
NOTE
Occasionally dip the putty knife in
water to aid in shaping the putty.

With the putty knife (3), shape the putty (2) into
an angle sloping from the glass down to the
edge of the frame.
4.
Miter the putty (2) at the corners as shown.
4.
Before storing, wipe all metal parts with an oily
rag.
5.
For long-term storage, apply a thin film of rust-
preventive compound on all metal parts and
store in a dry place.
