Maintenance Level, Column (4). This column is made up of sub-columns for each category of maintenance.
Work time figures are listed in these sub-columns for the lowest level of maintenance authorized to perform the function
listed in column 3. These figures (shown directly below the symbol) indicate the average active time required to perform
the maintenance function at the indicated category of maintenance under typical field operating condition.

Tools and Equipment, Column (5). This column is provided for referencing by code, the special tools and test
equipment (Sec. III) required to perform the maintenance functions (Sec. II).
f.
Remarks, Column (6). This column shall contain a letter code in alphabetic order which shall be keyed to the
remarks contained in Section IV.

EXPLANATION OF COLUMNS IN SECTION III.
a.
Reference Code. This column consists of an Arabic number listed in sequence from column (5) of Section II. The
number references the special tools and test equipment requirements.
b.
Maintenance level. This column shows the lowest level of maintenance authorized to use the special tools or test
equipment.
c.
Nomenclature. This column lists the name or identification of the tools or test equipment.
d.
National/NATO Stock Number. This column is provided for the NSN of special tools and test equipment listed in
the nomenclature column.
e.
Tool Number. This column lists the manufacturers code and part number of tools and test equipment.

a.
Reference Code. This column consists of a letter code in alphabetic order which is keyed to column 6 of Section
II.
b.
Remarks. This column lists information pertinent to the maintenance function being performed, as indicated on
the MAC, Section II.
