INSTRUCTIONS FOR ROADSIDE RACK ASSEMBLY - (CONTINUED)

Remove seven 1/4-20 X 1.75 inch pan head screws (Figure 2, Item 4), seven self clinching nuts
(Figure 2, Item 8), two drawer slide mounting plates (Figure 2, Item 4) and six shims (Figure 2, Item 3).

Remove six 1/2-20 X 1.75 inch hex head bolts (Figure 2, Item 14), six 1/2 inch spring lock washers
(Figure 2, Item 10) and six 1/2 inch lat washers (Figure 2, Item 11) from bottom of SECM roadside rack
assembly.

Remove four 1/2-20 X 1.00 inch hex head bolts (Figure 2, Item 9), four 1/2 inch spring lock washers
(Figure 2, Item 10), four 1/2 inch lat washers (Figure 2, Item 11), four hold down clamps (Figure 2, Item 12)
and four spacers (Figure 2, Item 13) from back of SECM roadside rack assembly.
6.
Slide SECM roadside rack assembly toward middle of shelter clearing any obstacles.

DISASSEMBLY
WARNING
SECM roadside rack assembly weights 311 lbs. disassemble and assemble rack assembly in
layers while inside of van to allow for safe lifting IAW MIL-STD-1472.
NOTE
There will be one spring sheet nut used for every connection of aluminum rail to corner casting
throughout the SECM roadside rack assembly. Clips lock corner castings and aluminum rails
together. Ensure all spring sheet nut are retained for use with reassembly.
It is only necessary to disassemble the SECM roadside rack assembly to the extent necessary
to remove damaged component(s). Upon removal of damaged component(s), proceed to the
applicable reassembly heading(s).
Mark or number non-damaged parts to ensure non-damaged parts are installed in the same
location they were removed from.
Separate tie down assemblies from front and rear aluminum rails prior to disassembly of front
and rear aluminum rails from the SECM roadside rack assembly.
For ease of reassembly, keep different length screws separate.
