REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT
SHEARING MACHINE SUPPORT BAR AND BACK SUPPORT BRACKET
1.
If backguage bar (Figure 2, Item 9) or support bar brackets (Figure 2, Item 8 and 14) can be repaired by
welding, weld damaged area IAW TM 1-1500-204-23. Repair must not interfere with form, it, or function of
backguage bar (Figure 2, Item 9) or support bar brackets (Figure 2, Item 8 and 14).
2.
Paint repaired backguage bar (Figure 2, Item 9) or support bar brackets (Figure 2, Item 8 and 14) IAW
INSTALLATION
SHEARING MACHINE SUPPORT BAR AND BACK SUPPORT BRACKET
1.
If a new shearing machine (Figure 2, Item 1) must be installed:
a.
On back of metal squaring (Figure 2, Item 4) of new shearing machine (Figure 2, Item 1), measure 2.25
inches from bottom and 39.25 inches from right to left. Mark measurement (Figure 2, Item 2).
b.
On back of metal squaring (Figure 2, Item 4) of new shearing machine (Figure 2, Item 1), measure 2.25
inches from bottom and 20.75 inches from right to left. Mark measurement (Figure 2, Item 3).
c.
Center punch and drill two 7/16 inch holes (Figure 2, Item 3).
2.
Install two bolts (Figure 2, Item 12), two upper lat washers (Figure 2, Item 11), two lower lat washers (Figure
2, Item 7), two lock washers (Figure 2, Item 6), and two nuts (Figure 2, Item 5) attaching support bar brackets
(Figure 2, Item 8 and 14) onto shearing machine metal squaring (Figure 2, Item 4).
3.
Install two bolts (Figure 2, Item 12), two upper lat washers (Figure 2, Item 11), two lower lat washers (Figure
2, Item 7), two lock washers (Figure 2, Item 6), and two nuts (Figure 2, Item 5) attaching backguage bar
(Figure 2, Item 9) onto support bar brackets (Figure 2, Item 8 and 14).
