INSPECTION OF INSTALLED ITEMS CONTINUED
1.
Inspect shrinking/stretching machine (Figure 1) for damage. Replace as necessary.
2.
Inspect all shrinking/stretching machine hardware (Figure 1, Item 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, and 8) for rust, cracks and
rounded heads. Replace as necessary.
REMOVAL
1.
Remove six bolts (Figure 1, Item 2), six lock washers (Figure 1, Item 3), and six lat washers (Figure 1, Item
4) detaching shrinking/stretching machine (Figure 1, Item 1) from shelter loor.
2.
Remove eight bolts (Figure 1, Item 6), sixteen lat washers (Figure 1, Item 4), eight lock washers (Figure
1, Item 7) and eight nuts (Figure 1, Item 8) detaching brackets (Figure 1, Item 5) from shrinking/stretching
machine (Figure 1, Item 1).
REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT
1.
If shrinking/stretching machine brackets (Figure 1, Item 5) can be repaired by welding, weld damaged area
IAW TM 1-1500-204-23. Repair must not interfere with form, it, or function of shrinking/stretching machine
brackets (Figure 1, Item 5).
2.
Paint repaired shrinking/stretching machine brackets (Figure 1, Item 5) IAW WP 0068 00, Figure 4.
INSTALLATION
1.
Install eight bolts (Figure 1, Item 6), sixteen lat washers (Figure 1, Item 4), eight lock washers (Figure 1,
Item 7) and eight nuts (Figure 1, Item 8) attaching brackets (Figure 1, Item 5) to shrinking/stretching machine
(Figure 1, Item 1).
2.
Align bolt holes of shrinking/stretching machine brackets (Figure 1, Item 5) with inserts on the loor.
3.
Install six bolts (Figure 1, Item 2), six lock washers (Figure 1, Item 3), and six lat washers (Figure 1, Item 4)
attaching shrinking/stretching machine (Figure 1, Item 1) to shelter loor.
Torque bolts (Figure 1, Item 2) 160-190 in. lbs.
