REMOVAL.
CAUTION
To avoid equipment damage, compressor must be shut down before
performing maintenance procedures.
a. Unscrew wing nut (1) and remove filter cover (2).
b. Remove screw (3), nut (4) and lockwasher (5) holding filter housing (6) to bracket (7).
c. Unscrew housing (6) from pipe elbow (8).
REPAIR.
a. Inspect filter element (9)and foam sleeve(10)for dirt accumulation. Sleeve(10)can be cleaned as required but
element (9) is disposable type.
b. Remove filter element (9) from housing (6).
WARNING
Drycleaning solvent, P-D-680, used to clean parts is potentially
dangerous to personnel and property. Avoid repeated and prolonged
skin contact by wearing rubber or non-porous gloves when handling the
solvent or material wet with drycleaning solvent. Wash hands
immediately after exposure with soap and water and use a lanolin based
skin cream to prevent skin drying. Do not use near open flame or
excessive heat. Flash point of solvent is 100ºF (38ºC). Do not work
with solvent in a closed room. Be sure there is good ventilation or the
solvent vapors will build up in the air and become a poisonous mixture
which can cause physical injury or even death.
c. Remove foam sleeve (10) and clean in solvent.
d. Replace filter element as required.
INSTALLATION.
a. Apply antiseize tape on filter housing threads. Install filter housing (6) onto pipe elbow (8) and tighten.
b. Install screw (3), nut (4) and lockwasher (5) to secure housing (6) to bracket (7). Tighten screw.
c. Install filter cover (2) and secure with wing nut (1).
