THEORY OF OPERATION
After the shelter has been erected, the operator personnel will unbolt selected items of equipment (WP 0010 00
through WP 0016 00). These items will be relocated to pre-selected positions on the expanded side of the shel-
ter (WP 0002 00, Figure 5 and Figure 6). The selected items, when moved, will not be secured (bolted) in place.
This allows the shop personnel a certain lexibility in the event long or bulky materiel must be repaired within the
shelter. The recommended locations were selected for proper utilization of loor space and maximum safety for
the operating personnel.
Detailed instructions for unbolting equipment and the recommended sequence for relocating equipment are con-
tained in WP 0010 00 through WP 0016 00. The procedures for striking the shelter and preparing the Pneudraulic
Shop for transport or storage are contained in WP 0019 00 through WP 0030 00.
If hardware is damaged and it is necessary to replace a ixed equipment or shop components within shelter, care
must be taken to remove all bolts, nuts, and other fasteners. All cabinets and racks are bolted to loor and unless
isolated, are normally bolted to adjacent cabinets and/or to wall.
WARNING
A four man lift is required when moving or lifting ECUs. Each unit weighs approximately 270
pounds. Trying to move or lift an ECU without suficient help can cause SERIOUS INJURY to
personnel.
The ECUs are supplied by the unit. Procedures for positioning the ECUs for operation are in WP 0011 00. The
two ECUs are positioned on special fold-down panels when the shop is in the operational mode. Power is pro-
vided by a 208V, 3 phase cable located inside the shelter next to each panel. Both ECUs can be easily removed
for service or repair. Procedures for repositioning the ECUs for transport or storage are in WP 0020 00.
Electrical power to operate the Pneudraulic Shop is provided by an auxiliary generator or a commercial power
source. A Power Distribution Box (PDB) is used between the power source and the power entry panel of the shel-
ter. The generator, PDB, and the pigtail used to connect the PDB to the generator are supplied by the unit. Over-
load protection is provided by circuit breakers. The circuit breaker panel is located inside the shelter next to the
personnel entrance door. Procedures for connecting electrical power to the shop are in WP 0006 00. Procedures
for disconnecting electrical power from the shop are in WP 0028 00.
